Oil Mill Victoriaoil joint stock company in Šid took over a leading position in its branch after significant investments and capacity improvements, and also significantly influenced higher local production of soybean, sunflower and rapeseed.
The processing capacity of the factory is 600 tons of sunflower grains per day or 500 of rapeseed per day or 400 tons of soybeans per day. In the factory complex there is a universal storage silo with the capacity of 40,000 tons of sunflower or 80,000 tons of wheat (soybeans) and four drying facilities.
Factory has excellent strategic position, therefore receipt of oil seeds and grains as well as the dispatch of products is carried out by the road and industrial train track which is connected to the main railroad.
Basic company products are crude and refined oils and protein meals. Crude oils are used as raw materials for production of refined oils and biodiesel, depending on current needs. Refinery plant has also additional possibilities to bottle edible oils, which can be extracted in simple technological process from raw materials (soybeans, sunflower and rape seed).
Victoriaoil is the first and so far the only biodiesel production plant in Southeastern Europe. For the plant construction were provided 2,616 acres of building site in Victoriaoil factory complex. Total value of the investment is around 20 million euros, which makes it one of the biggest investment projects in the whole country. This plant has no differences from similar plants in EU thanks to the latest technology of German concern LURGI, with the annual capacity of 100,000 tons of biodiesel.
Environment protection was one of the key factors during equipment and technology selection process for this biodiesel plant. The product – biodiesel satisfies quality standard EN 14214 and can be exported to European market. Victoriaoil already had inquires from EU market, but the idea is to create conditions to market entire production on Serbian market.
